Featherbed Nature Reserve

Knysna’s little paradise

12/02/2019

The little piece of paradise, Featherbed Nature Reserve, has re-opened on the 1 st of December 2018. The Featherbed Nature Reserve is a privately owned reserve, and also a South African Heritage site. It is located on the Western head of Knysna which is only accessible via ferry.

On the 7th of June 2017, Featherbed Nature Reserve suffered major fire damage. Approximately 95% of the vegetation was destroyed by the fire. Various facilities were particularly affected, forcing the reserve to shut down until they could rebuild. The entire Garden Route suffered from these fires, but Knysna was affected most severely.

On the 1 st of December 2018, Featherbed Nature Reserve was relaunched. More & More Africa had the privilege of sending one of our Time Machine leisure groups to experience their Eco-Excursion on the first day of their re-opening.

We are happy to see it open and flourishing again. Sporting a few new facilities including an Oyster bar, an indoor Milkwood Restaurant, and a rooftop bar, the reserve is a must-see when in the Garden Route.

We will include this exciting experience in your tailor-made itinerary when you allow us to realize your dreams.
